Made in our workshop with a slightly thicker rope as a first example, this lovely doorstop ts made using 14mm hemp rope around a solid wooden core. The ends of the rope are then platted together to make a handy lifting/corrying handle.

These lovely nautically inspired door stops are perfect for using as doorstops down to there soft rope outer covering while weighing in at 2Kg, so heavy enough to do the job. Alternatively could just as easily be used as decorative items that would suit many settings or decors.
A monkey’s fist is a type of knot, named for its resemblance to a small clenched fist or paw. Traditionally, it was used by sailors to add weight to the end of a heaving line, making it easier to throw the line from a ship to shore. The knot is often tied around a weight, such as a small ball or stone, which provides the necessary mass for throwing
