50 years ago you wouldn’t have been able to go to the theatre in the UK without seeing a Furse or Rank Strand lights illuminating the show. This workhorse used for lighting Cycs, backdrops and generally for wash fills it’s likely to have been seen in village hall, concert hall, local theatre or in the West End. In fact just about any show you saw in the fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties or nineties would have likely included some of these useful fixtures.
